MARUANI MERCIER Gallery offers its Warehouse exhibition space to 11 Belgian galleries to hold a small local fair.
The Belgian MARUANI MERCIER Gallery offers its Warehouse exhibition space to 11 Belgian galleries to hold a small local fair this Autumn called Warehouse Fair. “As international fairs are cancelled world-wide and art travellers are staying local, we believe small local fairs are the best answer to the Corona crisis.” says Laurent Mercier. When we offered our exhibition space free of charge to our colleagues the initiative received instant success. I want an exhibitor’s fair, one where politics don’t count, the booth attribution spaces will be drawn by a ballot and an innocent hand. The finances will be open-book to every exhibitor with a pre-agreed budget.”
The 11 participating galleries are:

Stabilo has been chosen to build the booths. Hans De Brauwer, manager of Stabilo says: “The Warehouse is an ideal exhibition space for this kind of initiative, it can easily hold between 10 and 16 booths, the building has a lot of character and we strongly believe this is the answer in the short future to the art world and its fairs: smaller, local and controlled”.
