Cat ladies (gattare) have been always considered something to keep distance from—a dirty, messy, older woman, a bit witchy too. Although, it looks like we are far away from many traditional stereotypes, we are not. They keep changing, transforming but they are still part of the way we see/judge society and people. With her paintings, Scaccia wants to play around with these stereotypes to give them a new power, energy, meaning—shapeshifting their outline.
