"Patricia Hamilton wanted to do a sculpture show in which she would pay some artists that don’t usually make bronzes.

She would pay the foundry to do a few works. I couldn’t think of
anything I wanted to do in sculpture, so I thought of sculpture as been kind of a literal meaning, you just do an object, that looks like something you want it to look like.

So I said I'll just do a bronze, of
similachrome of a painting so this is/was my idea. That’s it.

There is another thing… One of the founders said : “Ron, this is coming out great, why don’t you do
sculpture?”

And I said : ”there's only one reason why I don’t like sculpture…”
“What’s that reason” he said ?

I said: “that’s gravity”
If we could send it up to space and let it float, I'd love it." - Ron Gorchov
