In Blue Prison (2026), a field of vivid blue, enclosed by fluorescent pink and red, is overlaid with a system of rigid vertical divisions configure into one of the core motifs in Peter Halley's artistic production. Hovering between abstraction and diagrammatic vision of a prison cell, the work embodies Halley's enquiry into the condition of isolation in contemporary society, whilst staging a dialogue with notable Modernist artists such as Albers and Malevich.
