Interweaving references drawn from the monographs on Matisse and Klee, as well as book on Buddha’s life and teachings, the present work stages a meditation on modes of seeing as pathways to knowledge and transcendence. The idea of Indra’s Net, referenced in the title, is a powerful image of the interconnectedness of beings and things. Originating from ancient Buddhist philosophy, Indra’s Net describes a net hanging in the universe; in each knot, there is a jewel that reflects all else in itself – an infinite set of incandescent reflections contained in each individual particle.
