Arne Quinze’s ‘Impact Glass_’ embodies a fusion of craftsmanship, innovation, and artistic vision. Crafted in Murano,
Italy, these 15 sculptures blend traditional glassblowing with contemporary expression.

At the core of ‘Impact Glass_’ lies a thought-provoking reinterpretation of human history. Arne Quinze beckons us to reflect on humanity’s intricate connection with the natural world by presenting a fictional narrative timeline depicting the arrival of alien DNA, which becomes our human DNA, on Earth. ‘Impact Glass_’ captures the moment when alien DNA collided with our planet via a meteor. The meteor serves as a metaphor symbolizing our human disruptive behavior, marking the inception of a human-alien DNA hybrid. This depiction, vividly portrayed within the ground-floor setting, illustrates the scene of a meteorite impact, encapsulating the essence of this encounter and housing traces of the alien DNA within its growing crystalline ‘Impact Glass_’ structures. ‘Impact Glass_’ signifies the genesis of a disruption to the harmonious state of nature—reminiscent of the metaphorical Garden of Eden—ushering in the encroachment of an invasive alien species.

Scientific research into meteorites such as Murchison, Black Beauty, Erg Chech 002, and NWA16128 reveals insights into the origins of life and the formation of celestial bodies. These meteorites contain extraterrestrial material, including complex amino acids and olivine crystals, crucial for life as we know it.

Alongside ‘Impact Glass_’, another installation, ‘SIX Testimonials_’, coexists in the same room. While ‘Impact Glass_’
showcases the crash site of young alien DNA as glass bells, ‘SIX Testimonials_’ portrays evolutionary iterations over
millions of years, marking a significant milestone in the DNA’s transition from biological to digital.
