across the population of the country and a story that evolved over many decades. The source
image depicts Randy Jackson, the seventh and youngest son of the Jackson family who missed
out on the Motown fame of The Jackson Five but toured with the band and was adopted into
the group which evolved as The Jacksons. The image reminded me of Botticelli’s Portrait of a
Youth which is often used on the cover of Machiavelli’s “The Prince” an analysis of youth
acquiring political power and greatness.
