Armory Show 2023

Javits Center, New York City, 8 - 10.09.2023

We are thrilled to return to The Armory Show this year with a focus on three exceptionally talented young painters, Kwesi Botchway, Jaclyn Conley, and Johnson Eziefula, following successful solo exhibitions for each artist in the last years at our spaces in Brussels and Knokke.

With his distinct angular brushstrokes, Ghanian artist Kwesi Botchway emphasises black skin with purple hues, a colour linked to royalty, grandeur, and wisdom, wherein he highlights the idea of beauty in relation to the Black experience. Canadian painter Jaclyn Conley is inspired by historical events, and connects key social and political concerns of our time with a sense of pictorial beauty. Her dynamic approach to contemporary history painting is reflected in five new thematic works created especially for our booth that are not to be missed. Shown for the first time in the United States, Nigerian artist Johnson Eziefula’s sultry paintings are deeply personal yet universally resonant bodies of work that explore memory and the self through the guise of his friends and family. This special grouping of some of our most sought-after artists presents never before seen paintings that offer new perspectives and techniques, providing a unique glimpse at our exciting program.
