Born between 1940 and 1950: 12 NEW YORKERS
We are talking here about Appropriation, Repetition, mixed techniques, and on top of all: tribute to painting.
Apart from their talent, their life in New York and the fact that they were born between 1945 and 1955 they all inherited the history of American painting in their own way.
And they all, with their own personality, absorption of techniques, colors, cultures and history, participate in movements in American art which are more than just trends. We are talking here about Appropriation, Repetition, mixed techniques, and on top of all: tribute to painting. As they all have been Teen-agers during a time when minimalism was reigning on planet art.
